Danny Clark's Monday Nights Kickoff With Bang

New York Giants linebacker Danny Clark is not only one of the most well-respected guys in the locker room, he knows how to throw a party...for a good cause.

Danny hosted the first of his Danny Clark's Monday Nights events last night, premiering a season-long series where he will host his Giants teammates and the fans who love them for a night filled with hot wings, beers and Monday Night Football in support of his charity, The Danny Clark Foundation. The DCF provides support to underprivileged children through a variety of initiatives and Clark is very hands-on with the cause.

Clark hosted the gamewatch party at The Ainsworth, a just-opened-5-minutes-ago sports bar on West 26th Street, where the entire season's events will be held. The gastropub is literally swimming in HD televisions all playing "the game" while one or two might show an event like the Federer-Del Potro U.S. Open final, if you're lucky.

Fellow New York Giant Ramses Barden was in awe of the "million televisions so you don't have to miss anything" while you make your way to the bar for Coors Light and Svedka cocktails or to the overflowing trays of spicy wings and turkey sliders.

Last night several of Clark's teammates stopped by to support Danny and his cause, including rookie Ramses Barden, Steve Smith, Bryan Kehl and Derek Hagan. Green Bay Packer Sean Jones also hung out with his fellow NFLers at one of the Players Lounge tables.

"Danny's one of those smarter guys you really respect. He's been through a lot and the younger guys can really learn from him," Steve Smith told AGAIG on why he was there supporting his fellow Big Blue.

Project Runway's Kevin Christiana also hung out and enjoyed the football festivities.

Meanwhile, Clark, 32, was the consummate host, making his way around the room to make sure he chatted with all of the fans and other guests supporting his event and his foundation. His Giants teammates were gracious as well, hanging out amongst the crowd and taking the time to chat and take pictures with fans.

Last night's TWO football games and set from DJ Berrie were a bonus, but if the inaugural evening was any indication, the entire series should be a blast for anyone looking for a new scene to enjoy some Monday Night Football.

However, even with the obvious gridiron element, I had to wonder why Danny chose the oft-laid back Monday slot for his parties. In fitting nature to his wise veteran nature, Clark responded, "Tuesdays are the Giants only day off."
