Beauty & Essex

Where, oh where is my favorite place in New York City right now...
Emilie Gidley, Amy Hertenstein, Jessi Marquez, Kate Wilson and Sara Eisman

The weekend of December 10th marked the opening of new restaurant and lounge "Beauty & Essex." Brought to you by the same people that own Stanton Social, Beauty and Essex promises to meet your standards and go beyond.
On December 11th, my friends threw a "Welcome home" dinner party for me at Stanton Social. We enjoyed french onion dumplings and lobster rolls and debated where to go next. The manager then mentioned to us about his new lounge right around the corner. We decided to check it out. I am so glad we did!
The entrance is marked like a pawn shop, and the entrance is decorated beautifully with a very large chandelier and mirrored wall. The venue is literally HUGE. We made ourselves cozy upstairs and discussed how much we loved the place.

Last week my friend Jessica was in town. I decided to make a reservation for us to try out their dinner menu. We were thoroughly impressed. Not only is the ambiance of the lounge enough to keep you coming back, but the food is amazing.
After we finished dinner we decided to head to the ladies room to freshen up. In the bathroom was a bar and leather loveseat. The bathroom bartender then offered us FREE champagne.

Beauty & Essex...job well done!

Maroni's Cuisine is heaven in your mouth

In the quaint little village of Northport Long Island, there is a hidden gem for the taste buds. I would define myself as a "foodie" and can admit to trying nearly every great restaurant in New York City. However, when I really want to give myself a treat...I take the Long Island Rail Road to Maroni Cuisine.

Many of you have probably heard me rant and rave about how amazing the food is here. This surprising yet delectable tasting menu literally keeps me on the edge of my seat!
The warm staff and laid back atmosphere add to this already amazing experience. The background music is a pleasant mix of Pearl Jam and The Beatles. You will often hear the Owner and Chef Mike Maroni laughing with one of the tables ( yes, you feel right at home here)! The never ending glass of wine compliments the assortment of tantalizing flavors. Maroni's is 100% quality and does not compromise itself by saving a few pennies. The crab will make your mouth water and the dessert made me as happy as a 6 year old.
Don't believe me? Zagats rated Maroni's food a 28!!

Whenever I have the treat to visit my favorite dining spot, I always remember to bring home a pot of their famous meatballs! Famous? YUP! These meatballs beat BOBBY FLAY-Click here for video!

I can go on and on, but I am getting really hungry thinking about all the great food! Please feel free to read more reviews here...and thank me later for helping you find your favorite restaurant!

Stanton Social

Tonight on "The City", Jay seems like he's not that into poor little Whitney. At least he kinda broke it to her at my fave place.....STANTON SOCIAL!!

Saturday night, before Stan left for China (don't ask)....we decided to head to Stanton Social for dinner and drinks. Reservations are close to impossible, and now I know why! The food and cocktails were AMAZING!! We went upstairs to the bar/lounge area. They had a beautiful tasting menu and we made ourselves cozy on the lush banquettes. I sipped on a "Stanton Tea" while people looked around for seating.
For dessert, you must get the chocolate tasting. It had everything from a S'mores cake, to house made peppermint patties!
My favorite appy was a twist on a childhood favorite. French Onion Soup Dumplings...delish!!
