12 things girls love to do on social media
1. Take pictures in a mirror reflection... in their stellar outfits.... with some hashtag like #GirlsNight
2. Take a picture of someone they deem inferior to themselves in some way with the question: Really?
3. Thank their husband or boyfriend for being the best husband or boyfriend in the world while their husband or boyfriend is sitting right next to them.
Love- A girl that does all these things :)
2. Take a picture of someone they deem inferior to themselves in some way with the question: Really?
4. Complain about bad service. “Ugh, worst massage ever... never going back!”
5. Express their extreme excitement to see their best friends tonight- with a full roll call- and include some stupid girly things.
"Gracie, Dee, Erica, and Sara!!! Love YOU GIRLS!! #Besties #kindredspirits"
6. Take pictures wearing a lot of makeup and looking really girly while simultaneously making a “hard” facial expression and holding up what they consider to be a gangster sign. Potential caption: ‘Ball so hard"
7. Take pictures of undeserving food.
8. Make their status the song lyrics of any Kings of Leon, Mumford and Sons, Adele, Coldplay, Script, Ray Lamontagne song. Hashtag : "Oneofthosedays"
9. Write angry letters to companies (Dear Starbucks, your coffee is the worst!), unorganized groups of people (Dear girls on the street who think that leggings can be worn as pants..), and non-entities (Dear unseasonably cold weather, why are you so cold?!)
10. Subtly yell at no one in particular while being very specific. “Wow, it’s hard to believe that you think you know someone and then they turn around and STAB YOU IN THE BACK. Will never make that mistake again. EVER.”
11. Document exceedingly mundane activites for the day. “Going to brunch today. Then getting much needed things for the apartment. Then it’s off to the post office to mail some bills. Then stopping by the salon. Will probably need some more food by the end, so I may stop at a restaurant in soho. But I might be tired so I’ll probably just grab something. But if I’m not very tired I’ll probably just go to some happy hour. Again, unless I am tired.”
12. Post the same picture in diptic... to get the point across...that they can make different facial expressions.
Love- A girl that does all these things :)

Cute winter nails
Photographed by Tracy Wang
I am typically not a huge fan of nail art. I'll be honest, I think it often looks trashy. However, during holiday season, anything goes! I think these nails are adorable, and frankly the only thing I like that includes snow.
What nail art have you seen that you like?

I am excited for the New Year
Don't get me wrong - 2011 was an amazing year. I'll probably end up doing a recap at some point...
However... I am ready for a new year.
Last month Gracie, Erica and I ended up going to The Griffin. I swear, it was a night of verbally processing. The venue was beautiful, the music was perfect, and the people were FUN!
After several weeks of debating, we finally decided... that was where we wanted to spend our New Years Eve. We decided to really go all out and purchase a VIP table... just to make the night extra special.
Previously working in nightlife with Joonbug - I always worked on New years eve. In high school and college I would do the house party thing, which was always fun but never really met my expectations. Although the tickets were $200... it was well worth it. I am excited to have a special night with my friends. planned and locked in. It includes a 5 hour open bar... so when I break it down, this made the most sense.
Today they posted that you can purchase tickets online. So maybe we will see you there!

Back by Popular Demand MOCK YOUR WORLD returns to Rockwood Music Hall December 5th and 6th!“Sure to leave you humming, cheering and blushing” –NY Daily News
New York, New York -- MOCK YOUR WORLD, the spectacularly naughty Broadway musical parody event, returns to the Rockwood Music Hall for two nights only! With music and lyrics by Andrew Byrne, MOCK YOUR WORLD will run at Rockwood Music Hall (196 Allen Street, NYC 10002) Monday 12/5 & Tuesday 12/6. Catch it before it hits Off Broadway in 2012!
With a tuneful score, witty lyrics, and a naughty sense of humor, the hit show satirizes life as a New Yorker and a musical theatre fans. Songs from Mock Your World have already received over 250,000 views on YouTube, with breakout hits including "Contemporary Musical Theatre Song," which pokes fun at the soundalike scores on Broadway, and "Standing On The Train," which turns Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park With George" into a tragic tale about riding the L train.
The talented cast includes Lisa Rothauser (The Producers on Broadway), Marya Grandy (The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Les Miserables on Broadway), and Robby Sharpe (Iron Curtain) . With music and lyrics by Andrew Byrne (Les Miserables, A Class Act, Triumph of Love), and David Perlman (Baby it's You! on Broadway & Madagascar Live!). Together, they deliver a sidesplitting, taboo-shattering musical event that is irresistibly funny.

Cake Batter Martinis
This weekend a few of my friends and I got together and decided to have a girls night...
We danced around the apartment and listened to fun girly music while getting ready. I decided to pick up a bottle of Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka to make cocktails.
I decided that moving forward - I want to invent some more yummy cocktails for my friends. Gracie is the best baker ever, Erica is a great chef, and well... you can call me a mixologist, if you will.
So here is my recipe for Cake Batter Martinis (paired with Gracie's Cake Batter Blondies):
Coat the edge of the martini glass with frosting (You can use your finger). Dip the frosted rim into the sprinkles and put into freezer. Then in a martini shaker - pour in the vodka, liquor, and semi melted vanilla ice cream. Shake...pour...serve.

I've gotta say... this vodka is a dream. It tastes just like whipped cream!
We mixed the vodka with diet orange soda to make "Creamsicle Cocktails". We also mixed it with root beer to make "Root Beer Shooters."
Let's just say... the night was a huge success of dancing, photo shoots, and just being silly.

Free music... that is good.
I get it... we all use spotify, pandora, and grooveshark.
Here is the thing.
Living in New York City, sometimes you need music on your ipod. Subways for example, don't pick up Pandora. Then you're left listening to the awkward conversation going on next to you.
I've gotta say, Starbucks and Urban Outfitters have some pretty rad music to download.
Check it out and let me know what songs you're loving.
Drink some free coffee while you're at it!

Cake Batter Blondies
There are few things that I crave on a regular basis.
One of my biggest cravings is Cake Batter Blondies.
These are seriously one of the tastiest baked goods I have ever had.
My best friend Gracie created this recipe, and its something that I think NEEDS to be shared!

I'm Crazy for Like Crazy
Last Friday was one of those days.
You know- a day where you wake up and your heart just kinda feels funny. Not for any particular reason...
Typically, I don't like to go into a movie knowing anything about it. I rather be pleasantly surprised. However, "Like Crazy" met my expectations... and then some.
I can honestly say, this might be one of my top ten favorite films. Within minutes of starting, my friends and I were wiping salty tears into the sleeves of our shirts.
While attending college in Los Angeles, Jacob (Anton Yelchin), an American, and Anna (Felicity Jones), who hails from London, fall madly in love. However, the young lovers are forced apart when Anna violates the terms of her visa and must return to England. Jacob and Anna discover the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship in the face of their changing lives. Yet, no matter how often circumstances pull them apart, they always find themselves back together again. -Source
You know- a day where you wake up and your heart just kinda feels funny. Not for any particular reason...
My friends Gracie, Kelly and I decided to go see the movie "Like Crazy."
I went into the movie with high hopes.
After watching the trailer, I had already left my desk at work weeping like a little child.
The movie was real. When they first meet, you can feel their awkwardness. When they are falling in love, it reminds you of what it feels like to have your heart become open and exposed. The conversations they have, invite you into their relationship... and leave you asking questions for days after leaving the theater.
So should you go see this movie. The answer is yes.
The movie is described as:While attending college in Los Angeles, Jacob (Anton Yelchin), an American, and Anna (Felicity Jones), who hails from London, fall madly in love. However, the young lovers are forced apart when Anna violates the terms of her visa and must return to England. Jacob and Anna discover the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship in the face of their changing lives. Top 5 songs that make you feel like a girl
Sometimes ( and only sometimes) do I think it's okay to act really girly.
To believe that soul mates exist.
To like ribbons, cupcakes, and cheap accessories.
To picture what your future home may look like.
And to listen to music that makes your heart beat a little faster.
Well, today I am going to share with you 5 songs that do just that.
1. Blue Foundation- Eyes on Fire (Dubstep Remix)
Okay, this song is amazing for a multitude of reasons. One being that it's from Twilight, and so that automatically makes it both girly and emo. Second, Dubstep just makes everything better. Period.
2. Sia-Breathe Me
This video is a piece of art. I could just watch it over and over again. This song is a lullaby.
3. Stars- Dead Hearts
I first heard this song on the trailer of one of my favorite movies. Like Crazy. The song is so pretty and yet tragic. The way they sing this song together is even prettier.
"Tell me everything you saw
They had lights, inside their eyes..."
4. Mike Posner- Please don't go
This song is a bit different than the other three... It's a bit more clubby. However, I have a friend that played this acoustically and it became one of the most romantic songs ever.
5. Ray LaMontagne- Be Here Now
This is hands down the most romantic song I have heard recently. I seriously can't get enough of Ray LaMontagne, and I think this song could make my heart burst.
"Don't lose your faith in me,
and I will try not to lose faith in you.
Don't put your trust in walls,
'cause walls will only crush you when they fall."
What songs make you feel girly? ( Do not say "Girls just wanna have fun...")

All I do is Pin Pin Pin
Where did I find this inspirational picture?
Pinterest is every girls dream. The site allows you to create boards or things you like.
Let's just say, it's a bit of a digital collage.
I remember in highschool, cutting out my favorite quotes and pictures from magazine to inspire my day. Now you can make boards of things you want, things you like to eat, perfect quotes and just about anything.

Multitasking and coffee breaks
Sometimes,
things are just too busy...
So, what's my trick to not going insane between the hours of 8am-6pm.
Living in a city like Manhattan,
there are times where you need to literally stop for a second, and
breathe. I think that multitasking is just a part of survival in New York.
Everyone is always working on multiple things at once. The survival of the
fittest is no longer how fast you can run, but if you can work on multiple
windows and tabs online at once. It amazes me how quickly time flies here. I
come into the office and look down at the clock on my desktop, and its already
2pm. I recall making a to-do list of things I wanted to see/do this summer, and
now, it's already snowing.
So, what's my trick to not going insane between the hours of 8am-6pm.
Taking 20
minutes of ME time.
Whether its going outside to call a friend that doesn't live
here, grabbing coffee at the Ace Hotel, or sitting on a bench and reading for a
little bit. You actually have to schedule in the time to do this. There is, and
always will be, something you need to work on, do, accomplish.
Where do you go
when you need to escape?
