New Yorkers drink a lot of coffee (this is not new news)...
and I've discovered a way to do it, without going broke!
Here we go...
Starbucks offers free coffee
*I'll agree, Starbucks IS NOT my favorite. I truly love Saturdays and Birch... but this works during the weekday!
FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. Go to Starbucks and purchase a $10 gift card in the morning
2. Purchase your beverage with the gift card
3. Go HERE and register your card
4. Go to Starbucks with your empty cup
5. Hand them your card- they will refill your coffee for 54 cents
6. Spend the $10 on the gift card, getting refills for 54 cents
7. When that runs out, reload with $5
8. After you accrue enough points (happens pretty fast) you will receive FREE refills
* Also, on your birthday you receive ANY drink of your choice!

LOVE this! Thank you for this. I am wondering, does this work for only black coffee or as pictured with the iced version or a latte. I just need the specifics before trying for myself and looking like a fool. haha
You can get any hot/ice coffee
As a Starbucks barista, the official refill policy is only within cafe. However, I personally do not adhere to this becauses more problems that anything else. However, we do strictly adhere to not refilling cups we know are from prior days. Plus, it's not like hot coffee, iced coffee, or iced tea are expensive to begin with...so please try not to cheat the system.
To answer some of your questions, the refill policy only works for hot coffee, iced coffee, and iced tea (and iced tea-lemonades do not qualify for the refills).
