The Ex-Banker Living on Alcohol

Okay, so I currently came across an article in NY MAG about a 24 year old Ex-Banker who is living her life in NYC. I came to the realization that this girl was living a strangely similar life to me and my group of girlfriends (minus the fact she is REALLY in need of morals!)

One part said " 11 p.m.: Head to Dorrian's, where I am immediately greeted by everyone from my New England boarding school fist-pumping to Glory Days. Bliss. I chat with a cute guy and we drunkenly make dinner plans for the next day. He’s in my phone as clubdshottall. "

Who is this girl? I would love to go out and grab drink with her (since we probably have done so 101 times) but, like all my friends do (seems like she desperately needs good friends) I would make sure she gets home ok...and alone!

Random Thought

I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

Deatils :http://newyork.metromix.com/events/community_event/santacon-2008/264235/content

Dress like Santa, Buddy the Elf, or a Snowman and join NYC in one of the largest drinking festivals ever.

Andrew Rizzo tells us some more from last year-
"Hey guys, Im not sure if most of u know, but SANTACON '08 is Saturday Dec. 13th.... Its probably the best day-drinking bar crawl you can take part in. All you need to do is dress in holiday apparel. For example a santa outfit, elf outfit, snowman, reindeer, etc... (i even saw a guy on rollerblades with a huge dreidel drinking last time)

Every year it starts in a hidden location that is revealed the morning of at like 7am and hits up all of Manhattan. I will be there with a couple friends going at it full force. Any questions contact me or check my pictures from last year.

Ohh and invite everyone. The more the merrier. ho ho hoooo"

Still Burning

My candle burns at both ends;It will not last the night; But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--It gives a lovely light!
-Edna St. Vincent Millay

Speaking of burning the candle at both ends, I went out last night with my fellow blogger "Courtney" and we drank a glass of wine in nearly every Huntington establishment while waiting for our friend who was stuck on the LIRR. Three hours later we were bombed and found ourselves mocking every place we went. What's with the ribosome lighting fixtures? The cliche use of ailoi? The losers who latch onto you while your friend is in the bathroom "breaking the seal?" All these things suck, especially when you have to spend Friday with high schoolers who can't understand the meticulous test directions you stressed over. I'm just glad that our little "Tom" has a bad sense of smell, otherwise he's smell the Pinotage underneath vast amounts of Narciso Rodriguez eau de parfum. P.S. Those T-strap heels killed my feet ---> http://zeta.zappos.com/product/7404919/color/144402

Still burning, Melinda *-)
